POSITION SUMMARY
The Dietary Associate serves as the primary food service professional responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals for families residing at Providence House. This position ensures all meals are prepared according to approved menus, dietary guidelines, and portion standards while maintaining the highest levels of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
The Dietary Associate supports inventory management, food donation coordination, CACFP documentation requirements, and kitchen organization while contributing to a welcoming, respectful, and dignified dining experience for all residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Meal Planning & Preparation
- Plan weekly menus in alignment with approved nutrition guidelines and program requirements.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to the approved menu.
- Document all menu substitutions and meal adjustments as required.
- Complete daily menu worksheets to support accurate monthly reporting and CACFP billing.
- Ensure proper portion control and consistent meal presentation standards.
Food Safety & Sanitation Compliance
- Ensure kitchen operations meet all local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, dining area, and food storage spaces.
- Monitor and record refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily.
- Clean and sanitize cookware, dishes, and food preparation equipment.
- Properly store all purchased and donated food items in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to management promptly.
Inventory & Donation Management
- Place food and supply orders based on menu planning and inventory needs.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food donations.
- Maintain organized food storage systems to minimize waste.
- Track food usage and notify leadership of low inventory levels.
Compliance & Professional Accountability
- Maintain compliance with CACFP and Food Bank guidelines.
- Attend required trainings related to food safety, nutrition programs, and agency policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high ethical standards.
- Contribute to a respectful, welcoming dining environment for residents.
Compensation: $14.00 per hour
